British troops: Fit soldiers who can run 2,4km and give you as many sit-ups and press-ups possible within two minutes or less.
Despite commanders' insistence that fitness is vital to the "battle-winning edge needed to ensure success on operations'' a Ministry of Defence (MoD) report into fitness levels confirms that barely two-thirds of soldiers are as fit as they should be.
Troops who are to fat to fight can take a second test to join the army: a 1.5 mile run, sit-ups and press-ups against the clock, wearing "PT kit and training shoes". But if they continue to fail after "remedial training", they can be discharged.

This is actually a funny fact to read about. Soldiers should be fit indeed if they want to fight in a war. We can't have fat soldiers whom are not even fit enough to run away. That would tear down a huge amount of english families whom lost their son's in war. To be a soldier is not destined for everybody, besides the fact that a soldier must have a fit body, they also have to be fit psychologically. Many soldiers have a crack down when they return from a warzone. I think that besides a fitness test, the troops should also have a psychological exam when choosing their British Warriors to fight during a war.
